These pictures are from a short weekend in Umeå, a small city in the north of Sweden. Umeå has an amazing winter landscape and it was easy to feel creative and imaginative. The winter landscape express new colors, shapes and patterns which inspired me.
Beautiful pictures.

The pictures are nice and it is a fine idea to always keep a notebook with you to be able to catch the ideas when they arrive instead of trying to remember them later (or even forget them altogether). Many ideas appear in situation when you are not explicitly looking for them, like during a vacation or other idle time. Some of the ideas might actually come up in smaller parts and when you have put them down on the notebook, you might later see that they form a bigger idea. Therefore, it is important to keep a pen and paper within arm’s reach as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteNature is a very good inspiration source for creativity as can be seen from your beautiful pictures from Umeå. For example, it is not difficult to see from where Finnish glass artist Tapio Wirkkala has drawn his inspiration when designing the Ultima Thule (http://www.iittala.com/web/Iittalaweb.nsf/en/products_drinking_special_drinks_ultima_thule) series. Have any of these pictures (or other pictures) inspired you in a way related to design? It would also be nice to hear if you have found any methods to support or enhance the creativity process.
Just a quick comment on the blog styling as well... The blog outlook is stylish and original, however we would recommend changing the font to a more easily readable one. The current font’s structure is too fine, making it quite hard to read continuously. Though we do understand the desire to use a fun font, so maybe you’ve already thought about this and decided that it is a good balance for you given your options and desires for the site.
